NEWSBOYS.com - The New Site REVIEWED
Feast your eyes on the new newsboys.com! everyeye (+) has it's eye on the inside wants to be the first to give you to scoop -
The 2009 newsboys are really into the "glowing headshot" as they rebrand themselves as the same newsboys that brought you the smash hits like "Shine" and "Entertaining Angels"! With the reintroduction of long time guitarist Jody Davis - they newsboys are telling the world that they're BACK and are excited about their new album coming up on May 5, "In the Hands of God".
The static navigation bar is clean and easy to use. Much preferred over many bands flash sites, nothing is ever more than a few clicks away. This site is sleek in function and high in fashion. Social networking takes the prime real estate on the new layout and they've got everything. RSS news feeds, facebook, myspace, last.fm, iLike, Flickr, & twitter links adorn the top right giving you access to everything social in one easy shot. Except, wait, what’s that, two facebook logos!?! The first " f " logo links to facebook and the second to their Flickr site… don’t worry – we’ve contacted their webmaster – For your audio visual enjoyment there's a classic vimeo player touting the "Houston Here We GO" promo and a YouTube link. We're still awaiting the "In the Hands of God" promo video. Recent photos are powered by Flickr... right now "recent" is up for interpretation but everyeye will be sure to keep you up to date with all the action when NEWSBOYS roll into London on April 5 and Toronto on April 6!
A flash banner announces, "In The Hands of God" scheduled for release on May 5 (single available on i-tunes on Feb 24). Also check out their ad promoting the newsboys JOIN THE TRIBE TOUR with partner Global Tribe and special guests Decemberadio, VOTA and Bread of Stone. OF COURSE you’ll want to see it in London on April 5 and Toronto April 6!
The bulk of the site is refreshingly made up of their news RSS keeping you up to date with all that’s officially new in Newsboys land. Being able to control the dynamic content (multiple players) is a definite bonus and keeps things neat. Albeit the sleek look of the black is enjoyed, it's almost over done, like "too black". The overall 'feel' is a very 'subdued' newsboys, and when you push play on the Vimeo player - you definitely feel the pulse of the NEWSBOYS loud and LIVE!
As this is EVERYEYE MEDIA's first web-review we don't want to be to generous either way . . . BUT in a world built on craziness, this is one of the cleanest easiest to navigate band sites we've seen in a while. Drum roll please . / . / . / . / . / . / .
